Bike to Work book

Carlton Reid is one of the busiest bike journalists i know. Not only does he write for BikeBiz the UK trade magazine but he also twitters with many bike business people, he blogs and spreads the bike word better than one of those western preachers saving souls in the afterlife with a half empty bottle of whisky in his pocket. Carlton is doing his stuff for the present and making a lot of noise, promoting the bicycle, both politically and emotionally. Check out Quickrelease TV to be convinced.
The next step is his new book, written with Tim Grahl, called Bike to Work. We sponsored the book with an ad and you can see the results here. This is a sampler for the book that will be available from Amazon soon. The book will also be available as an E-Book and a free pdf download. I can’t wait to get my hands on the “real” book version. The USED ad is on page 14. The book is very well written and according to Carlton “written mainly for the USA”. He estimates the sales will be around 80%-20% between the USA and UK. I hope the bike will also be read in the rest of Europe. It’s not written in a techy way and anyone with a good English background can read it.
I think the increase of bike commuting is a sign that more and more people are realising that the world can be a better place if we act responsible. Companies will also see that there workforce is fitter, with less sick days and more attentive during the day, because of the ride to work in the morning.
The book is a milestone for a change of thinking regarding modern transportation and will encourage many to take the plunge and just do it. Bike to work indeed.
