The bicycle expert will probably say: "Has the ScooterTrike won another prize?" Sorry, yes they have. A jury has decided - the ScooterTrike wins in the category "bicycle" the esteemed iF-Design Eurobike Award.
The first-ever Eurobike Award 2005 was organized by the Eurobike 2005. This seal of excellence was awarded for particularly innovative design, for products and accessories that reveal new directions in design. Successful products not only have their quality confirmed, but also receive an image boost and a special distinction vis-à-vis competing products in the market place. From a manufacturer's point of view the Eurobike Award represents a superb marketing tool that signals an innovative enterprise. And designers have an opportunity to mobilize their expertise here, thus contributing to essential improvements in this special discipline.
Members of the jury were Erik Zabel, Hans van Vliet, Peter van der Veer and journalists of the SAZ, Bike and Mountain Bike. The awards show was at the opening of the Eurobike 2005.
